cajupitanga is a project idealized by Candioco and Francisco Viva, based in Vitória da Conquista - BA. The duo's first album "Tradição/Tradução" was released in July 2021, which also marked the beginning of their partnership with the historic label "Cantores Del Mundo". Inspired by the trova guitar from Bahia's countryside, combined with Brazilian rhythms and electronic modernism, cajupitanga is grounded in homemade production and creative freedom. The experimental production with cell phone recordings and field recordings points to a lo-fi proposal, while bringing Brazilian, Latin and sertanejo musical traditions in the free mix of rhythms that are part of the members experience. There is also a strong influence of ambient music, articulated in the duo's first releases by the violeira tradition of Vitória da Conquista, re-signifying the influence of fellow musicians such as Elomar and Xangai.
